hen I started making Redesdale Cheese at my farm in Elsdon in 1985, the cheeses of Northumberland were known only to a limited circle. But I had faith that farm made cheeses of such character deserved to command wider recognition.

And so it has proved. More important than the accolades of experts at International Shows is the fact that people who appreciate premium quality can now find Northumberland Cheese made to traditional methods (using vegetarian rennet, by the way), in good supermarkets, grocers and specialist shops.

That's because our move to Make me Rich Farm at Blagdon in Northumberland, ten miles north of Newcastle, has enabled us to combine craftsmanship that has stood the test of time with a dash of new technology.
